Peer Broker Training - Second Run
The European Social Fund has agreed to fund our free Peer Broker Training for two more intakes - in September of this year and January 2013. We held a successful launch event on Tuesday 3rd July in the Green Room at The Old Music Hall on Cowley Road.
Annie Blake (Headway), Jan Sunman (Oxfordshire Family Support Network)
and Angela Barnatt (OCC) at the launch event
The Peer Broker course will be slightly different from the one we ran last year: there will be more of a focus on people who want to broker for themselves and their friends or family members, but it will still be a full training course for people who want to work as independent brokers. Our review of the first run of the course can be downloaded here.
We are going to incorporate some training on Timebanks and Time Brokering. We're currently consulting on some ideas for how Timebanks and Self-Directed Support can fit together (you can watch a short video here).
If you're interested in coming on the course or know someone else who may be then please get in touch! We'd love to hear from you. If you're really keen you could fill out an application form (in word format or as a .pdf), but you really don't have to - we can do that when we meet. The course starts on the afternoon of Thursday 27th September, and will run at the same time for 10-12 weeks.
