NHS Privatisation Films Now Available Online

News

Last night local activists met in East Oxford to view 3 short films by local artist Ann-Marie Sweeney. The films, which attempt to unpick the consequences of the Health and Social Care Bill, can now be watched free online.

WAKE UP CALL

The first film in the trilogy is an edited lecture by veteran health campaigner John Lister of Health Emergency. John rubbishes the claims that the Bill will but friendly family GPs in charge of the NHS, using actual examples to back up his claims.

A BETRAYAL OF TRUST

The second film of the trilogy looks at the reforms from the perspective of a London GP, who fears that the drive to make money will result in worse treatment and erode the trust between patients and doctors.

THE RETURN OF FEAR

The final film looks at what would happen to expensive, vulnerable groups of patients in a system run for profit.

Some of those present asked about the rally in defence of the NHS on 7th March.

Unite are organising a free coach that leaves St. Giles at 10am. Thos interested should contact  Chris Bond instead of just turning up...
